Day Twenty-Four

Lately I’ve been spending a lot of time in the kitchenette, leaning into the luxury of stationary life. As I work through my Mix and Match meal prepping, I’m acutely aware of the infrastructure I have backing me up right now.

Today is Day 24 of my 60-day "TrailBlaze Back to Health," and my "Bunker Kitchen" setup is a powerhouse for restoration. I have access to a full-sized fridge, a mini chest deep freeze for vacuum-sealed meals, and ample pantry space. This allows me to use my full toolkit—vacuum sealer, induction burner, air fryer oven, and crockpot—to their maximum potential. I can prep weeks in advance, ensuring my fuel is secured even if a Trifecta flare-up hits.

The Mobile Dilemma 🚐

To be clear, I don’t have plans to leave, and I’m grateful for this stability. However, life has taught me that things can change. I’ve had several "long-term" setups abruptly re-mobilize. Because of that, the Nomad in me is always asking: How would I pull this off if the ground shifted again?

Transitioning back to a rig means hitting three major walls:

📦 The Storage Paradox: Without a deep freeze, stockpiling becomes "sourcing." Cooking becomes a daily chore—a heavy ask when my body is already "shaken" and sore.

🔌 The Power Tax: My current tools are power-hungry. On the road, an air fryer or induction burner requires a massive battery bank and solar setup just to make one meal.

💸 The Financial Drain: Efficiency is cheaper. Buying in bulk keeps costs down. Sourcing single-serve portions on the road is expensive, often forcing a choice between a "Nomad Tax" or cheap, processed food that stalls my recovery.

I’m using this time to analyze my "minimum viable nutrition." Whether I stay in this bunker or the road calls again, the mission is the same: Fuel the body to sustain the trek. Health isn't just about what you eat—it's also about the infrastructure that makes it possible. ✨️
