Day Nine

Day 9: The Mix and Match Meal Prep Hack in Action 🥗🔥

Moving into day nine, the momentum is really building. After crossing the one-week mark, I’m finding that the success of this 60-day journey isn't coming from willpower alone—it’s coming from the systems I’ve put in place. This week was the ultimate stress test for my kitchen setup, and it passed with flying colors.

Today, I’m pulling back the curtain on the mix and match meal prep method I’ve developed. It’s not about making five identical, boring Tupperware meals for the week. It’s about building a library of prepped ingredients that I can assemble into a fresh, vibrant meal in under five minutes.

The Foundation: Starches and Bases 🍚🥔

I keep the heavy lifters ready to go in the fridge. By pre-cooking these, I have a solid base for any meal. My fridge is currently stocked with the classics like prepared pasta and fluffy rice, along with the root crew of potatoes and sweet potatoes. And of course, I have my gut-health hero, the spaghetti squash, ready to go.

The Flavor Engine: The Veggie Medley 🌶️🍄

This is where 'eat the rainbow' actually happens. I prep a massive medley of tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic, and mushrooms. Having these aromatics and colorful veggies pre-chopped and lightly sautéed is a total game-changer.

Because I have these building blocks ready, I was able to whip up four completely different meals this week with almost zero effort:

1. The Rice Bowl: A hearty mix of fluffy rice and Quinoa, the savory veggie medley, topped with a little wheat germ and nutritional yeast.
2. Whole Wheat Pita Pizza: Topped with olives, a little bit of extra old shredded cheddar, and that prepped veggie base for a quick comfort-food fix.
3. Spaghetti Squash & Medley Sauce: Topped with nutritional yeast and served with avocado toast on the side.
4. Garden Pasta: Fusilli tossed with the veggie medley and a massive handful of fresh spinach.

Why This Works:

The goal of this 60-day TrailBlaze is to create rituals and rhythms that actually last. This method removes the friction. When my fridge looks like a library of healthy building blocks, the right choice becomes the easiest choice. I’m eating for my weight goals, my gut health, and my energy, and for the first time, it feels like a system I can actually keep up.
